Permanent Fillers
Aquamid is a gel consisting of polyacrylamide (2.5 %) and sterile water (97.5%). The main advantage of this filler over traditionally used materials such as collagen or hyaluronic acid is that it remains inside the body permanently, unlike the others, which will be absorbed.
It does not contain any micro particles as do rival products and is therefore not immunogenic.
These fillers must be inserted with expertise and strictly according to the specifications if undesirable side-effects, such as irregular contours, are to be avoided. When used with prudence by an experienced plastic surgeon for the exact indications it is recommended for, Aquamid produces very good long-term results.
Allergy tests are performed about 4 weeks prior to treatment with Artecoll® to avoid allergic reactions. In long years of experience with Dermalive® no allergic reactions or incompatibility have been observed – Würde ich weglassen!.
Brief Summary
- Duration of the procedure: about 30 minute
- Type of anaesthesia: local anaesthetic using a cream
- Outpatient treatment
- Presentable after 2 or 3 days
Indication:
- Wrinkles and scars
- Sculpting and padding defined parts of the body (e.g. enhancing lips that are too thin, puckering)
- Deep creases between the nose and mouth
- Frown lines
Treatment:
After the application of a pain-relieving cream the permanent filler is injected into the area to be treated by means of a very fine syringe. This treatment is practically painless. Afterwards the area is cooled briefly to prevent bleeding or bruising.
The injected filler is not immediately enmeshed in its new environment. Therefore the area should be fixated for a while and moved as little as possible after the procedure.
After the treatment:
- Cool the area
- You may apply make-up after 2 hours
- Restrict your movements for a day
- Avoid participating in sports for 4 days
